What we build & operate
StrataNet offers a full range of fibre and wireless network infrastructure services — from initial design and consenting through to construction, commissioning and ongoing network operations.
We design and construct fibre networks from scratch — including ducting, cable laying, splicing, and termination. We’ve built networks for residential developments, commercial precincts, and enterprise campuses across the North Island.
We specialise in bringing gigabit-capable fibre connectivity to multi-dwelling units (MDUs), apartment towers, retirement villages and mixed-use commercial buildings — connecting every unit with future-proof infrastructure from day one.
Mount your equipment on our existing tower and rooftop infrastructure across Auckland and Northland. We provide high-capacity point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless backhaul links to connect sites where fibre isn’t yet viable.
Once built, we can operate the network on your behalf — 24/7 monitoring, fault response, subscriber management, and ongoing maintenance. You own the asset; we keep it running.
We’ve built fibre networks. We’re building them now.
Since 2007, StrataNet has been doing what larger telcos talk about — actually building and operating carrier-grade networks in places that need them. We don’t outsource the construction work. Our team designs, project-manages and physically constructs the infrastructure.
We’re actively building now across Auckland and Northland, and we have the equipment, the engineers and the relationships to bring your project to life — on time and on budget.
- Fibre ducting, cable laying, splicing and termination
- Multi-tenant and MDU in-building fibre distribution
- Wireless backhaul integration where fibre isn’t viable
- Full project management from consenting to commissioning
- Ongoing network operations and monitoring post-build
- Carrier-grade equipment from leading vendors
We build for every development type
Whether you’re a property developer, local council, telco, or enterprise operator — if you need network infrastructure built right, we can help.
New subdivisions, lifestyle blocks and housing estates — we design and install fibre infrastructure during construction so every home is connected from day one.
Apartment towers and multi-unit developments require specialist in-building fibre design. We deliver gigabit-capable connectivity to every unit with clean, future-proof infrastructure.
Reliable, managed connectivity for retirement and lifestyle communities — including internal Wi-Fi distribution, VoIP phone services, and ongoing network operations.
Business parks and industrial precincts with a shared fibre backbone and individual tenancy connections — scalable as the park grows.
Co-location, backhaul, and build-to-own fibre projects for operators who need infrastructure assets in the Auckland and Northland region.
Community fibre projects, rural connectivity initiatives, and public network infrastructure — we’ve worked with councils and government agencies on connectivity projects across the North Island.
Built to carrier standards
Every network we build is designed to last — carrier-grade equipment, proper redundancy, and professional RF and fibre engineering from end to end.
Our builds include backup power, redundant routing paths where required, and carrier-grade equipment from leading vendors including Cambium, MikroTik, Ubiquiti and Cisco. We don’t cut corners on infrastructure that people will depend on.
We operate across licensed and unlicensed spectrum bands and hold the licences to prove it. Our engineers will recommend the right frequency plan for your environment, terrain, and interference requirements.
Our network operations centre monitors all infrastructure around the clock. For managed network clients, faults are detected and responded to proactively — before your customers notice.
Site surveys, link budget analysis, frequency planning, fibre route design, and interference mitigation — our engineers have the tools, qualifications and hands-on experience to get it right first time.
How we deliver your project
From your first call through to commissioning and beyond — here’s what working with StrataNet on an infrastructure project looks like.
We discuss your project requirements, site conditions, connectivity needs and timeline. No obligation — just a straight conversation with our engineering team.
Our engineers conduct a site survey, develop a network design, and prepare a detailed proposal including costings, equipment specifications and timeline.
Our team manages the construction from start to finish — civil works, cabling, equipment installation, testing and commissioning. We don’t hand off to subcontractors.
Post-build, we can operate the network on your behalf or hand it over fully commissioned. Ongoing monitoring, maintenance and support is available.
Infrastructure FAQs
Fibre is the gold standard for in-building and subdivision connectivity — it delivers gigabit speeds, is future-proof, and adds asset value to a development. Fixed wireless is ideal where fibre isn’t yet viable due to terrain, distance, or cost — and we often combine both in a single network design to get the best of each.
Yes. We design and install in-building fibre distribution systems (IDF/MDF) that deliver individual fibre connections to every unit in a multi-storey building. We’ve done this for apartment towers and can manage the entire process from building consent documentation through to handover.
Absolutely — and this is the best time to get us involved. Installing fibre conduit during initial civil works is significantly cheaper than retrofitting later. We work alongside your construction team and can coordinate with your civil contractor to ensure the ducting is right before the concrete goes in.
Yes. We offer fully managed network operations — 24/7 monitoring, fault response, subscriber management and billing, and ongoing maintenance. Many of our infrastructure clients prefer this model as it removes the complexity of running a network while retaining ownership of the asset.
Our primary operating area is Auckland and Northland, where we have existing network infrastructure and engineering resources on the ground. We consider projects outside this region on a case-by-case basis — contact us to discuss your location.
The best starting point is a conversation. Fill in our enquiry form or call us on 0800 030 004 and ask for the infrastructure team. We’ll arrange a time to discuss your project and follow up with a detailed proposal.
